Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, interception and correction of dental and facial deformities or malocclusion.
To earn the title of orthodontist, a dentist must have obtained a specialist degree in a university recognized by the Ordre des dentistes du Québec and the Royal Canadian College of Dentistry.
You will benefit in many ways from orthodontic treatments, including improved oral hygiene, which is made much easier with well-aligned teeth. The risks of cavities will be reduced, leading to healthier bones and gums. Proper occlusion will allow better chewing, better function and improved digestion. On top of it all, you will have a beautiful smile to share with others!
Orthodontists associations in both Canada and the U.S. recommend an initial visit at the age of 7 to detect early problems that require correction. There are some types of problems that are best corrected while the child is still growing. This first visit will also allow us to perform some procedures to facilitate your child’s dental development.
Everyone can benefit from treatment to improve function and get a great smile, regardless of age. To make an appointment, contact us today.
